A couple of years ago we had Adam Broadway, CTO and Co-founder of Near Me, join us for a discussion that introduced the concept of a marketplace economy [recording available here]. The Near Me system is a 'Platform as a Service' that allows global brands and entrepreneurs to create Peer-to-Peer and social commerce marketplaces. DesksNear.Me, its flagship product, was created in 2012 and connects mobile workers to available desk space all over the world. Prior to Near Me and DesksNear.Me, he built Business Catalyst, a SaaS company that was acquired by Adobe Systems in 2009.
This time around, we're bringing Adam back to the show and chat about the constant evolution in this space. While initially the power was for the "little guy" to leverage technology to compete against bigger brands and make a name for themselves, we'll learn from Adam's time with us this week that things are changing. Larger brands are now starting to take note and enter the marketplace, which is an interesting shift. What does it all mean??? Join us to find out!
