Getting someone to your website is only the first step towards online success. To make your website effective and a good business tool, you need to focus on what's known as "conversion". Think about your site visitors as thousands of salmon swimming up stream to spawn. However, if you don't have your nets ready to "catch" them, you'll quickly go hungry as you watch them swim right on by. You need to be prepared to capture the visitors to your site, and that's where a conversion strategy can benefit your business.
When a conversion takes place on your site that means someone visiting has done something you want them to do - whether that's downloading a white paper, filling out a form for more information, signing up for your monthly e-newsletter or making application for a loan. Simply driving traffic to your site without engaging them for follow-up (and possible business) you may be missing out on the most important half of a sound online strategy.
As you can imagine, creating the right "net" for your site is one that requires some thought and careful planning. One of the great ways to ensure that visitors are engaged with you online (and "convert") is via online chat. In this session we'll feature Gene Bonanno and his daughter Beth from WSI Internet Consulting to provide more information about the online conversion process and ways you can leverage visitor interaction.
About Gene
Gene Bonanno is a certified Internet Consultant with WSI, the world leader in Internet Marketing, Web development and Web design. About Beth
Beth Bonanno is Gene's daughter and has been working with the company since its inception in 2004. Originally serving as the Marketing and Communications Director, Beth is now an additional Internet Consultant in the office.
Beth graduated in May 2006 from Mount Union College with a B.A. in Political Science. After working as a Congressional Intern for the now Governor Ted Strickland and Legal Secretary for a local law firm, Beth decided to forego law school and maintain her position with her father's company.
