 You're hard-pressed in today's world to find a business or organization that doesn't have a presence of some sort on the web. While many businesses started with a "traditional" website, many others are leveraging the simplicity (and low cost) of the popular blogging platforms to connect with the rest of the world online. But, do you have any idea how successful you are with your efforts?

That's where analytics comes to play. Whether you are using basic site statistics provided by your webhost provider or have installed Google Analytics, there are several variables that business owners should be looking at on a regular basis to get an idea of what's happening online. In this episode of Free Webinar Wednesdays, we'll be joined by "WSI's Guru of Analytics", Feras Alhlou (blog, @ferasa on Twitter).

Feras is the President of E-Nor, Inc. which he co-founded in 2003. While Feras certainly has the ability to go "way above" most people's heads when it comes to analytics, this session will remain gounded in sound principles of analytics and ensuring that we have a good foundation to build from. We'll discuss some of the common terms associated with analytics (like links, visits, bounce rate, conversions, etc...) and some of the good starting points in what to look for when reviewing your analytic reports. Blogging Lessons Learned: Recap of Blogging for Bankers 2009

During this episode of Free Webinar Wednesdays, Eric and Jeff will share some of the insight and lessons learned during their 2009 Blogging for Bankers online course. While the title would indicate that today's session would only be appropriate for banks, many of the take-aways from the class are universally applicable to all types of businesses.

As Eric, Jeff and Bea FIelds (the other BFB instructor) prepare for the 2010 version of the class, some of what was learned based on feedback from the class participants and a age-range survey that is under way now are helping to shape the direction of the 2010 class. If you are thinking about making 2010 the year you start your bloging effort (or enhancing your blogging activities), this will be a very helpful session.

We'll also share some of the preliminary survey results asking consumers to let us know if the presence of a blog on a bank's website would have any influence on their selection process when picking a bank. You might just be surprised what the responses are saying... especially if you are a banker!

Geolocation Based Social Networking Sites - Games and Offline Gatherings...

Have you heard of the site Foursquare yet? What about Gowalla? Nope... well these are just two of the new sites that are cropping up to try and take the online social networking phenomena and evolve it into an offline (that's a fancy way of saying "in person"). The developers of these sites have even have found a way to make a game of it and for many Gen Y Internet users (which likely are either your employee or customers - or both), you may want to become familiar with these services and what they mean for business in the year 2010.

With us for this week's FWW to discuss these "location based social gaming sites" will be Darin "Doc" Berntson (www.igobydoc.com and @igobydoc on Twitter). Eric and Darin know each other from the WSI Internet Consulting world and met in 2008 when Doc shared what many would consider a once-in-a-lifetime "social networking" story about an experience he had in Las Vegas at the Luxor thanks to his skilled use of Twitter and web 2.0. We'll see if we can get him to recap this story before expanding into the topic for this week's session.

iPhone and Droid Apps To Make Your Life Easy (and FUN)

With the growing popularity of mobile devices making it easier than ever to keep in touch (with each other, the web, music, you name it) the 100-pound gorilla in the mobile device market is Apple's iPhone. However, for people that just don't want to tolerate the poor service quality in their area that comes along with the iPhone from AT&T, Motorola has recently come out with a formidable opponent on the Verizon network called the Droid, running on Google's Android software platform.

In this weeks' Free Webinar Wednesdays Jeff and Eric will share thoughts on these two devices and what apps they are using that have helped to make their lves easier (and yes, more fun). Jeff has been using the iPhone for just over a year now and recently switched over to a Mac for his primary computer, so he's loving life. Eric, on the other hand, has been on a Mac for over two  years as his primary computer but has been through "several" phones in search of a device that will sync data easily that doesn't run on the AT&T network. Good news, Santa brought him a Droid for Christmas and he's dug in and is using Google Apps along with his phone and Mac to make live much easier.

If you are an iPhone or Droid user, bring your list of favorite apps to share with the rest of the FWW crowd. With thousands of apps for the iPhone and over 20,000 (and growing) Droid apps now available, chances are there are some good ones out there yet to be discovered!
