Sorry everyone, but no show this week due to travel and vacation for Eric and Jeff. However, if you missed last week's show on Cyberbullying with our guest Deborah Gonzalez, you'll want to check it out. She shared some great information and you'll learn it's not just an issue for school kids.

What do Robin Williams' daughter (Zelda), actress Leslie Jones and Taylor Swift all have in common? They have been the victims of cyberbullying and have been attacked online. While most of these attacks take place on Twitter, largely due to the anonymity that is available to the "trolls" that take things too far, it's by no means the only place where this type of digital attack can happen. We've seen SMS text messages, Facebook posts, blog sites, Instagram comments... the list goes on.
While to many the prevalence of bullying can be seen as a juvenile thing and something that kids do to one another, there is a real problem with adults participating in the harassment (even in the workplace). But with the global reach of the Internet, the lack of prosecution for offenders and unclarity on what the punishment "should be" for those that are doing the harassment, the reality of cyberbullying is an unfortunate reality that we have to deal with if you're going to use technology and social media.
About Our Speaker With us this week to help navigate the "darker side" of the technology and explore the topic of cyberbullying will be Deborah Gonzalez, Esq. Deborah is an attorney and the founder of Law2sm, LLC, a legal consulting firm focusing on helping its clients navigate the legal and security issues relating to the new digital and social media world. Deborah is the co-developer of the Digital Risk Assessment ™ tool that assists a company to ensure that their online activity is in line with state laws, federal laws, and regulatory compliance.
She is a sought after speaker, content contributor, and news commentator. Deborah’s legal practice focuses on intellectual property, new media law (including social), and digital technology. She is the author of two Elsevier books: “Managing Online Risk: Apps, Mobile and Social Media Security” and “Online Security for the Business Traveler” both available on Amazon.com and Elsevier.com. Deborah is active on Twitter and you can follow her at @DGOnlineSec and @Law2SM or connect with her on LinkedIn.

When Amazon released the Echo device in June of 2015, and its digital assistant named Alexa, it ushered in a new type of digital assistant consumers could use to get things done. The always-listening device that magically responds to your commands that start with "Alexa..." is a great way to get news, listen to music, set reminders, check the weather, control your smart home and much more.
Recently, Amazon made strides in improving their "Skills" feature, with a searchable index that now offers categories for better organization. With over 1,500 Skills and growing, Amazon is developing its own "app store" for the Echo device and more are being added every day.
This week on the show, Eric will have his Eco on-hand and you'll get to meet Alexa first-hand. We'll share some of the features that are handy to use and how he's used it since it arrived under the Christmas this past December. We'll also talk about the other additions to the Eco family (Tap and Dot) and a bit about the other options that will be coming along soon, as Google's not too far away from releasing their own version of an in-home digital assistant.

With Google serving as the gatekeeper for most businesses on the web these days, if they don't return your website (or some related web presence of yours) in a search result, you might as well not be in business. But for many, this " Changing Face of SEO" poses a challenge, as many essential changes that have taken place are still being missed. In fact, many SMBs still work under old assumptions that are no longer true!
Today's session will cover the good practices for search optimization that all SMBs can do without having to become expert SEOs. With us to guide the conversation will be Stone Temple Consulting's Senior Director of Marketing, Mark Traphagen. Eric and Mark had the pleasure of meeting earlier this year at the #BankSocial conference in New Jersey where Mark sat on a panel discussion Eric facilitated, where he shared observations about four financial institutions and their online presence (and how to improve).
In an interview, Rand Fishkin of Moz named Mark as one of his top 5 people to follow on social media. He regularly contributes to all the "cool" online publications and is a frequent speaker at industry events and conferences on the topics of social media, online search and building your presence in the digital age.
