This week on the show Eric shares a few apps/tools that he's using to stay more organized and productive, as well as learning while on the go. You'll want to check out Expensify if you've not done that already. And, start taking notes using the Rocketbook Everlast to merge your offline (pen and paper) with the online (tags, archival, organization) world and you'll thank me later. Combined with an Evernote account and you've got the ultimate note taking setup!
Eric also shares some of the podcasts that he's listening to now, covering things like banking, technology, social media, productivity, etc. Finally, you'll learn about some additional learning opportunities through sites like Lynda.com (or LinkedIn Learning) and Udemy to take your skillset to the next level. Enjoy!

On a recent show one of our regular attendees asked during one of the Q&A sessions: "What are your top three favorite shows were and why?" We thought that was a GREAT question, but decided right then and there it was too "big" of a topic for the time we had left. "What a great idea for a show" we thought...
Well, that show is happening this week as Eric and Jeff will be talking a stroll back memory lane and reviewing all of the shows we've had and share some of the top ones that stand out in our mind. Hard to believe FWW's first show was April 1, 2009 and has been going for over FIVE YEARS now! We've got our loyal fans to thank for keeping us going that long, as well as all the amazing guests we've had on the show.
So join us this week as Eric and Jeff take a look back and share their favorite shows. If you're looking for some webinars to put on your "watch list" this episode promises to give you some great ones to consider.

With over 11.5 million Small
Businesses in the USA, they truly are the back bone of our economy. Interview, ask or ping any SMB owner what their largest "pain point
is" and you’ll hear a variety of arghhh's that have the same theme - the
back office. “I hate book keeping.... HR is a pain... Seriously if I knew
how much our administration was going to tax and regulate I never would have
started this business,” are all some of the common responses you’re likely to
hear. The reality is that every employee hired costs over $8,000 in
regulatory overhead..... that’s right, $8,000!
Hubicle
is a web-based service that offloads many of the headaches of the day-to-day
"stuff" that small business owners have to deal with. Hubicle’s was
created by small business owners seeking a solution to these back-office
frustrations. The owners stopped complaining and started problem solving ways
to make regulations, compliance, payroll, HR and legal issues run smoothly for
the small business owner. The mantra at Hubicle is "knowledge into
action".
The idea: Tell hubicle.com about
your business in a minute or less. Upload or send a few documents that are
important to your business (state, county or the feds) and they will identify
the relevant issues and concerns in a straight forward and easy to understand
format. You’ll then be able to read it over and make a decision to help your
business efforts. This frees up time, resources and dollars to enable your
business to focus creating, marketing and selling... or just leave the office
early every once in awhile.

Well, things certainly have not slowed for Jeff and myself and this summer has been keeping both of us hopping. Granted, as business owners ourselves, it's nice to be busy and we're both thankful for everyone that has come along and asked us to help. But, when both Jeff and I are out on Wednesday afternoons, it tends to be a bit of a challenge to hold our FWW sessions.
But, as with any problem in business, we're thinking about ways to overcome future issues when both of us are going to be gone and unable to attend. If you've got some suggestions on ways that you'd overcome a similar problem, let us know in the comments section below. Until then, is one idea that we've come up with, so let us know if you think this would be a viable option.
Pre-Recorded Webinars
While one of the great things that we LOVE about FWW is the engagement and interaction of the audience. We've built our list to over 1,000 subscirbers and have 50 or more people join us live during our webinars. One option that Jeff and I have thought about would be to hold our webinar earlier in the week and record it as usual, but then post it here for you to view in lieu of our live webinar. Sure, you wouldn't be able to ask questions or interact with us, but you'd still get to hear what's on our minds as we share new ideas, explore technology and feature guests that provide great advice and tips. Don't worry, we're not planning on doing this full-time and look forward to being back with you all next week, but down the road this may be an option for us.
With over two years of weekly webinars (yes, that's over 100 shows and we've only missed ONE so far), I'd say Jeff and I are doing pretty good keeping things rolling. We are not planning on slowing down and have several great guests lined up (some new and some coming back for a repeat performance), so thanks for your understanding and support.
Enjoy This myBrainshark...
One of the other tools that you may find useful is a cool site called myBrainshark.com. This site gives you the ability to upload a presentation, record audio and do all sorts of cool stuff with it. Below is a quick presentation that I did (under 15 minutes) to give you an example of just how easy it can be. Enjoy!

With Jeff gone for this week's session, Eric will be joined by Stephen L. Gibson - a successful entrepreneur, corporate pilot, consultant, and long-time elected servant in his small community. In the wake of the 9/11 attacks, however, his natural fascination with belief—epistemology—grew into a journey of introspection and inquiry that has periodically been both invigorating, and painful. Steve’s first book Truth-Driven Thinking was an examination of human emotion-driven thinking and its impact on everyday life.
His most recent was a well-received and well-reviewed novel called A Secret of the Universe: A Story of Love, Loss, and the Discovery of an Eternal Truth. It is an epic story about diverse human beliefs—in God, sexual ethics, morals, medicine, and political ideologies—told through two friends’ struggle to make sense of life’s triumphs and tragedies. Gibson uses that story to bring to life and critically examine the mental constructs and myths that too often exacerbate conflict and stifle human wellbeing, while overshadowing the metaphorical truths about the human condition that various mythologies can illuminate.
Thousands of people have also come to know of Steve’s journey through his self-disclosing blog posts, DVDs, and a popular podcast program, Truth-Driven Thinking. While Eric's original intent of bringing Steve on the show was to discuss perspectives around the concpet of online privacy (or, the lack thereof), sounds like the conversation could take take an number of different turns before we are through.

"A man can learn only two ways, one by reading, and the other by associating with smarter people." -Will Rogers
We don't know about you, but it seems like there are more things changing than staying the same, especially with the increasing accessibility of the 'net and reading devices like the Kindle, iPad and MP3 players making it possible to consume material anywhere, at any time... Trying to keep up with all the new information that is available can make it feel like you're drinking out a fire hose and can be a bit overwhelming.
During this week's session of Free Webinar Wednesdays, Jeff and Eric will share some of the sources and tools they are using to try and keep up with it all. We'll cover some of our favorite blogs, podcasts and online resources that you may be interested in taking advantage of, plus share HOW we are taking it all in and using our time as effectively as possible. Podcasts, readers, RSS feeds, newsletters... all of these have a way to make the "information processing process" easier and more enjoyable.
Be sure to bring YOUR ideas and suggestions, as we're excited to hear what sources YOU have found useful too. What sites to you visit, what books have you read, what magazines or blogs do you follow? The more we share, the more information we'll all have at the end of our time together!
Carbonite - Online backup of all your important documents.
Box.net & Dropbox - Cloud-based document and file storage solutions.
iTunes - Be sure to check out the Podcasts. Just search in iTunes for the topic you want to learn more about and enjoy. Don't forget to check out iTunes U too, for course material on a variety of different subjects.

This week on Free Webinar Wednesdays Jeff and Eric are stepping away from a formal presentation and opening up the mic to see what's on YOUR mind. While PowerPoint slides are cool and we've had some great presentations recently, we want to hear from YOU, our valued listeners.
Did something strike a chord recently and you want to talk more about it? Have some questions from a past presentation and interested in digging "deep" into a specific topic? This week's your chance to bend our ears and who knows, we may just get some good ideas for future presentations down the road.
So, bring your questions, comments and ideas to this week's session and let us know what's on your mind. Of course, we'll have a few things lined up to chat about to get the conversation started, but we are looking forward to your participation and making this session a real community effort.

In past episodes of Free Webinar Wednesdays, we've talked about the value of having great content on your website and what that can do for your online presence. The power of the blog makes it possible for anyone to become an author and tell the world what's on their mind. Last week, we discussed the importance of high-quality content for your site, that not only can be used for blogging, but for your product/service pages, press releases and website in general.
This week, we are going to continue the conversation about content and show you first-hand how great content (that's relevant, fresh and interesting to your readers) can not only get you great results in the search engines, but money in the bank - something all businesses are interested in doing. we're excited to be joined by Eric's WSI colleagues, Francois Muscat from South Africa. Francois has been a WSI Internet Marketing Consultant since 2004 and is currently the WSI area representative for South Africa. He is a member of the exclusive WSI President's Circle and the ICAC Council. Additionally, Francois has won several WSI awards and provides mentorship to WSI Consultants in his home country of South Africa and abroad.
Francois' comprehensive range of Internet Marketing services have a primary goal of helping you sell more online, improve your rapport with existing customers, generate leads, and increase your visibility on the major search engines like Google.
